Hummus is a great source of plant-based protein, and it contains a wide varieties of vitamins and minerals. The main ingredient in hummus is chickpeas, which is full of raffinose fiber. It makes a healthy and filling snack to improve your digestive health and grow your good gut bacteria. I love to make my own hummus because I can choose the ingredients from the brands I trust, and adjust the ratio of the ingredients based on my preferences.
To keep the hummus fresh and tasty, I’d like to use my Blen2Go to make a small batch. I’d also like to make my hummus while camping as well not only to make sure I can keep my health on track while away from home, but also reduce the usage of plastic container.
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 1/2 fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbs water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- salt to taste
- Dash of ground paprika or sumac
Step 1: Add chickpeas, garlic clove, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, water in the blender cup
Step 2: Start the 1st blending cycle, close the lid firmly til the green indicator lights up, double click the power button to start the machine, flip over and tilt the cup to complete the blending process, then open the lid and clean residue from the blade
Step 3: Add ground cumin and salt
Step 4: Start and complete the 2nd blending cycle
Step 5: Dash of ground paprika for serving
